Thank you for your kind words about Sherwood Engineering.
I was reading your site in search of TR-4C info, specifically looking for a
source of replacement speakers for the RV-4C. If you have any thoughts
on this subject, please let me know.
Some tangential info for the TR-4 line:
Inrad has made some replacement SSB filters for the
radio. Unfortunately there was some confusion about the filter
impedance, and that is being corrected. I put a set into my TR-4C, and
after giving feedback to George, the first run are going to be reworked.
Years ago we sold a CW mod to add a CW filter to a TR-4 / TR-4C
to make it a TR-4Cw. While we no longer have the filters, we do
have the custom switches and brackets to mount a CW filter and switch it
properly. So if any of the CW filters for the TR-4C ever hit the
surplus market, 500 Hz from Drake, then we have switches and brackets for
anyone wanting to experiment. Our filters was 350 Hz 8 pole while Drakes
was a 500 Hz 6 pole. It might even be possible to get some of the experimenter
KVG line of 9 MHz filters to work. We would sell the switch and filter
for $15.00.
I will spend some time on your site, as I had not been there
before.
