DESCRIPTION

The Drake R8 Communications Receiver Controller software is designed to provide entry and setup of various R8 and R8E receiver operating parameters such operating frequency, modes of operation, scan list, memory channels, event times and world clock from a PC, XT or AT compatible computer.

BACKUP COPY

Prior to using either of the enclosed original disks, it is suggested that backup copy be made. See your DOS manual for instructions concerning the COPY or DISKCOPY functions.

INSTALLATION

While at the DOS prompt (i. e C:\> ), insert either the 5-1 / 4 ” floppy disk or t h e 3-I /2" diskette into the appropriate disk drive ( A or B ) Select t h a t drive by typing one of the following:

A: (...for the A drive) 
B: (...for the B drive) 
Complete the drive selection command by pressing the ENTER key once. The DOS prompt should now display either A:\> or B:\> depending on the drive selected. At the DOS prompt type: 
INSTALL Press the ENTER key. Follow the instructions that append on the computer screen to complete the installation procedure.

OPERATION

Upon successful installation of the R8PC software, the INSTALL program will have changed the directory and the drive to the destination selected (i. e. C:\R8>1. At the DOS prompt, type the following:

R8PC Press the ENTER key and operation of the actual controller software will begin.
