The Drake C-4 STATION CONSOLE is designed to make the Amateur Radio
Station more efficient and easier to operate. It integrates many features into one
package, making it a unique piece of equipment.
 | Digital
Clock provides correct time at a glance. 24 hour type with one-second resolution. |
 | Power
Master: A heavy duty power contactor, controlled from the Consoles front
panel, provides complete station power control. The Power Master is separate from the main
Console, and can be located up to six feet away (controllable length). It contains eight
120 VAC outlets, six of which are switched on and off by the contactor, and two 240 VAC
outlets also switched on and off by the contactor. A hidden "safety-switch"
disables the Station Power ON control when leaving the station. |
 | Remote Antenna Switch allows front panel selection of up
to five antennas, requiring only one transmission line. Un-used antennas are grounded, and
one selectable position provides grounding of all antennas when leaving the station. A
front-panel indicator shows when the motor-driven switches are turning to prevent
transmitter damage due to improper termination. The Remote Antenna Switch also features
reliable motor-driven operation, a universal mounting bracket, "rain-hat"
construction, and a low-temperature lubricant allowing operation in adverse weather
conditions. |
 | Phone
Patch: The Phone Patch in the C-4 is designed around the new regulations
regarding phone line attachments. PTT operation for trouble free patches, a
compression
amplifier providing constant transmitter drive regard-less of phone line level, and a
level meter make it the ultimate in convenience. |
 | Complete
Recording Capability is featured in both the Patch and normal Mike modes. Audio
is available at the Rec jack during a normal QS0 as well as during a Patch. In the Mike
mode, the station mike is connected to the Rec jack by a buffer amplifier. |
 | Xmit
Tape: In the Xmit TAPE position, the transmitter is driven by a tape recorder
connected to the PB jack. The compression amplifier is used in this mode also, making
critical level adjustment unnecessary. |
 | Timer:
A solid state Timer, operating completely independent of the Digital Clock,
signals identification intervals as required by FCC regulations. The indicator is a
flashing amber light which is extinguished when the timer is reset. |
 | Wattmeter:
A through line Wattmeter provides accurate forward and reflected power
measurements. VSWR can be calculated using the monogram furnished. |
 | Equipment
Control: The Equipment Control is a unique function whose use is completely
programmable by the operator. It can be used for changing exciters, receivers, etc. A 12
VDC @ .250 amp. output is available to further multi-ply its uses with external relays. |
 | Rotor
Control: A built in Rotor Control compatible with the popular Ham-M Rotor
provides line voltage independent indications with an easy-to read direction scale. |
 | Dimens:
10 3/4"W, 5 1/2"H, 12 1/4"D; Wt.: 24 Ibs. |
