GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Model AC-10 is a 13.5 Volt. regulated power supply capable of supplying up to 3 Amperes of current. It may be used alone with the Model TR 22, TR 22C and TR 72 Transceivers or with the TR-22C i n conjunction with the Model AA-10 (10 Watt 2 Meter) Amplifier. It is  suitable for use with any transceiver requiring no more than 3 Amperes on transmit The AC 10 cabinet is designed to accommodate the Model AA-10 internally. The TR-22 or TR-22C Transceiver may be conveniently positioned on top of the AC-10. Two output Jacks are provided so that the Transceiver and AA-10 combination may be powered from the AC-10. A cable i s supplied with the AC-10 for the DC connection to the TR 22(C). Additlonally, a 120 Volt AC socket is provided on the rear of the AC-10. This Socket is switched from the front panel of the AC-10 and i s used to supply AC power to the built-in battery charger of the TR 22(C) so that the batteries may be charged while the unit i s being powered from the AC-10.

OPERATION WITH TR-22(C) OR TR-22(C)/AA-10

Plug the line cord into the 120 Volt AC source Connect the phono plug end of the cable supplied to either o n e of the phono jacks on the rear of the AC-10. Connect the other end of the cable to the TR-22(C) DC power connector. If the AA-10 amplifier is used. connect the red wire from the AA-10 to the other phono jack on the AC-10 using the phono plug supplied. The red wire connects to the tip of the phono plug. The black wire from the AA-10 should be connected to the N o 8 ground screw on the rear of the AC-10.

The AA- 10 may be slid into the AC-10 cabinet for convenience To charge the batteries in the TR-22(C). plug the charger cord into the AC socket on the AC-10 and position the charger switch to ON. The charger may be conveniently switched off from the front panel of the AC-10 after the recommended 16 hours of charging. When the POWER switch on the AC -10 is turned on, power will be supplied to the TR- 22(C) and AA-10

OPERATION WITH TR-72 OR OTHER TRANSCEIVER

Connect the positive power l e a d of the transceiver to the tip of the phono plug supplied Connect the negative power lead to either the outside of the phono plug or to the No 8 ground screw. Plug the phono plug into either of the two output phono jacks on the AC-10.

FUSES

The output of the AC-10 i s protected from short circuits or overload with a 3 Ampere fuse If the output of the supply is accidentally short circuited, this fuse will open The fuse is a type 8AG. 3 Ampere instrument fuse a nd may be easily replaced by sliding the AC-10 out of the case to gain access to the fuse holder near the top of the power transformer. This fuse should be replaced only with another fuse of the same type and rating.
To remove the AC-10 from its case, remove the four screws from the bottom of the cabinet and slide the chassis out the rear of the cabinet.
The primary power is fused with a 15 Ampere type 3AG fuse with pigtail leads. This fuse also fuses the switched 120 Volt AC socket un the rear of the unit. Therefore, and overload at the charger socket or a component failure may cause this fuse to open protecting the power tramformer and the power source.
The fuse is located between the printed circuit board and the front panel switches
