NB-7A NOISE BLANKER INSTALLATION

Installation of the NB-7A Noise Blanker in the R7 is accomplished via the following procedure:

Remove all interconnecting cables from the R7.

Remove the cabinet wraparound by removing eight screws on the botton and sliding the wraparound towards the rear of the R7.

Refer to figure 1 and remove the top cover from the main card case by removing 14 screws. (12 on top and 2 on the rear.)

Refer to figure 2 and remove the noise blanker dummy card as follows:

	a) Lift card out with supplied card puller.
	b) Unplug coax coming from IF Selectivity card, being careful not to lose grommet.
	c) Remove the noise blanker dummy card.

Install the NB-7A card as follows:

	Carefully plug coax from IF Selectivity card into coax connector on NB-7A card being careful not to bend center conductor of coax.
	Slide board down into card cage with right edge of board in card guide and making sure board connectors align with pins in the Parent board.

Route cable with grommet on card cage edge as before.

Reinstall the top cover with 14 screws. Be careful not to overtighten these screws.

Reinstall the cabinet wraparound with eight screws in the bottom.

Reconnect the R7 to other station equipment. The NB-7A will now operate when the front panel button labeled NB is depressed.

WARNING

The NB-7A is factory aligned. Should it be necessary to realign the NB-7A, refer to Alignment Section for proper alignment procedure.
