The Drake IN-7 Inverter provides
isolation between the ship's mains and the output voltage lines. |
 |
The unit is transistorized DC to
DC inverter supplying a DC output approximately equal to the input voltage
over an input of 20 to 30 volts with a load of 2.5 amperes. |
 |
The inverter is turned on by
shorting the OFF-ON contacts on the terminal strip at the end of the unit. |
 |
An external switch may be used
for this function and mounted on the panel of the unit being supplied with
power. |

-
Unsolder the green wire from the terminal strip at the resistor lead. Remove the terminal strip from the radio by removing one screw, lockwasher and nut securing the strip.
-
Drill (4) four .250 dia. IN-7 assembly mounting holes in the left side chassis wall as per enclosed pictorial entitled: "TEMPLATE - IN-7 MOUNTING".
-
Install the IN-7 assembly using l/4-20 hardware as shown in enclosed pictorial entitled: "HARDWARE - IN-7 MOUNTING".
-
Connect wires to the IN-7 as follows:
-
Unsolder the Orange wire from the rear panel switch terminal and solder it to the P.C. board post marked "(+) INPUT".
-
Unsolder the Blue wire from the rear panel ground lug and solder it to the P.C. board post marked "(-) INPUT".
-
Solder the Green wire to the P.C. board post marked "+24V OUT'.
-
Solder the Black wire from the P.C. board to the chassis
ground lug located above the internal speaker.
